Courses and Lessons

Beginner Horsemanship Classes

This week-long course is great for young riders, or those new to horse handling.  Participants will be assigned a horse for the week and will learn to groom, tack and ride.  Riders will have the opportunity to choose between Western or English disciplines.  General horse health, care, and safety will also be covered.  By working in small groups, the information is tailored to meet the needs of each group member.  The course concludes on Friday morning with a horse show and spectators are welcome!

Advanced Horsemanship Classes

Previous horse experience is required!    Riders will enjoy classroom training, trail rides, Arena riding, Guest Speakers each day, and much more!  The week concludes with an Ice Cream Social.   Lunch is provided each day. Have your rider bring a water bottle and a snack.

$250 – August 19th-23rd.

Individual Riding Lessons

These classes are offered as a way for riders with some horse experience to strengthen their riding skills.  Riders will work individually with an instructor and information can can be tailored to each rider’s needs.  Participants will be responsible for grooming and saddling their horse at the beginning of each lesson.  During the lesson riders will learn about safety, balance, technique, and how to communicate effectively with the horse.  Riders may choose between Western or English disciplines. Riders must have previous horse experience OR completion of above Beginning Horsemanship Class.

2 day classes are $75 and 3 day classes are $100.

Wrangler Program

In the Summer we hire Wranglers on Staff to help teach these classes and interact with the thousands of campers we have every Summer. They have an amazing opportunity to work with and care for horses in a safe, fun, hands-on environment. They are given the responsibility of helping with various horse care tasks, assisting with riding lessons as well as guiding horses for the campers that visit in the Summer.
